The Opportunity:
The CIS program supports our intelligence customer deliver IT services to conduct its globally distributed operations. We are driving an exciting technological transformation of customer IT services by leading the design, development, implementation, and operation of cutting-edge solutions. This includes continuous service improvement through the modernization of IT system infrastructure.
CACI is looking for an experienced, innovative, and motivated Data Center Engineer to support the mission objectives and needs of the customer, the Defense Intelligence Agency. In this role you will be the technical authority for designing, implementing, and optimizing physical, virtual, and cloud-based data center infrastructures. You will bridge the gap between facility engineering and IT operations by ensuring our mission-critical data centers are highly resilient, strictly compliant with safety standards, and fully accredited to operate securely.
The position is contingent upon award of the DIA SITE III CIO Infrastructure Services (CIS) contract.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and update physical, virtual, and cloud-based data center lifecycle configurations for optimal redundancy, resiliency, availability, and efficiencies
  • Review other Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools quarterly to verify that the Government's solution provides the best capabilities to manage and monitor the data centers
  • Incorporate considerations of physical location, including seismic, fire, and thermal events in power, cooling, and overall space design elements
  • Conduct physical and virtual site surveys, data gathering, and documentation reviews for all data center locations to ensure designs meet both customer and location requirements
  • Maximize use of modern technologies and capabilities for copper and fiber cable plants
  • Ensure compliance with all U.S. and/or host nation physical and safety best practices, laws, policies, and regulations
  • Coordinate with stakeholder mechanical, civil, network, and security engineers for collaborative designs, reviews, and implementations
  • Collaborate with Operations teams on integration of data center monitoring tools to meet SLAs and ITSM customer service objectives
  • Conduct testing of data center solutions, components, and configurations to aid in achieving Interim Authorities to Test (IATTs) and Authorities to Operate (ATOs)
  • Provide engineering support for all data center implementations
  • Provide support of engineering services from engineering to operations transition

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Must hold a current Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start
  • DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)
  • HS and 16+ years of experience, an AA and 14+ years of experience, BS/BA and 12+ years of experience, MS/MA and 10+ years of experience, or PhD and 8+ years of experience
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience designing, integrating, validating, and implementing physical and virtual data center solutions
  • Willingness to learn new skills and new technologies

Desired:
  • Familiarity with IC ITE services and classified environments
  • Practical experience with data center operations, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
