Job Summary:
The Department of Pathology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Associate Professor or Professor (HS), Forensic Pathologist. The successful candidate will:
  • Educate medical students and residents.
  • Lead a pathology elective for medical students and a required rotation for pathology residents.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Department of Pathology, University Hospital at Downstate and the Office of the City Medical Examiner to serve as a resource for physicians and staff for consultation on forensic autopsy and death certification.

Required Qualifications:
  • Medical Doctor Degree.
  • New York State Physician Licensure.
  • American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic Pathology and Forensic Pathology.
  • 10+ years of experience in Forensic Pathology and in teaching medical students and training residents.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Affiliation with the City of New York Office of the City Medical Examiner.
