Position: Source Inspector (Stamping Parts Supplier

Job Summary:
Perform source inspections at metal stamping suppliers to ensure parts comply with engineering drawings, quality standards, and purchase order requirements before shipment. Verify product conformity, documentation, and supplier process compliance to support on-time delivery of defect-free components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct source inspections at supplier facilities for stamped metal parts.
  • Review engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.).
  • Verify First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP (if applicable), Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and inspection records.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001, customer requirements, and quality procedures.
  • Identify non-conformances, document inspection findings, and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and SQEs.
  • Approve or reject parts for shipment based on inspection results.
  • Support supplier quality improvement, root cause analysis, and CAPA activities.
  • Prepare source inspection reports and communicate quality status to Procurement and Quality teams.
