Job description

System Engineer
MCPC is seeking an ONSITE (Client Based) Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Azure-based server infrastructure, Microsoft Intune endpoint management, and Microsoft 365 administration. This role provides technical leadership in the design, implementation, optimization, and long-term support of cloud and server environments, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational standards and best practices.
The Systems Engineer serves as a subject-matter expert, contributing to architecture decisions, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement across infrastructure and endpoint platforms.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Server & Cloud Engineering
  • Lead the design, support, and optimization of Windows Server environments hosted in Microsoft Azure.
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable server workloads.
  • Oversee patching strategies, performance tuning, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide technical leadership for infrastructure modernization initiatives and cloud migration efforts.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to cloud architecture, security posture, and operational efficiency.

Endpoint & Device Management
  • Own the administration and strategic use of Microsoft Intune for device compliance, security policy enforcement, and application deployment.
  • Define and maintain endpoint security baselines and configuration standards.
  • Guide endpoint lifecycle management practices, including onboarding, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex endpoint and device management issues.

Microsoft 365 Platform Support
  • Act as a senior-level resource for Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and Entra ID.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex user and system-level issues across the M365 ecosystem.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, service optimization, and governance within Microsoft 365.

Documentation, Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and maintain high-quality technical documentation, configuration standards, and operational runbooks.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, security, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and operational maturity.

Experience / Skills Required
  • 5+ years of experience in systems or server engineering, including senior-level responsibilities.
  • Advanced experience designing and supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and Windows Server environments.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management strategies.
  • Strong experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services at an enterprise level.
  • In-depth knowledge of identity and access management using Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, troubleshoot complex issues, and influence platform strategy.
