Job description

Be Part of What's Next

Great creative work needs more than a strong idea-it needs exceptional production behind it. As a Senior Producer with HearstMade, you'll lead the production engine that transforms ambitious branded-content concepts into compelling social video and photography for some of the world's most recognizable brands.

About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)

Hearst Magazines is one of the world's largest publishers of premium content, with a portfolio of more than 30 iconic brands, including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Harper's BAZAAR, Men's Health, Popular Mechanics, and Town & Country. We reach more than 165 million people every month across our print, digital, video, and social platforms. Our global presence spans 25 countries, and we are committed to delivering high-quality content that informs, inspires, and entertains audiences worldwide.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)

  • Lead production planning and execution across multiple concurrent branded video and photography projects, developing schedules, budgets, and resource plans that deliver against scope.
  • Translate directors' creative visions into executable production plans, identifying budget, timing, logistics, and feasibility considerations early and bringing solutions to the table.
  • Build and manage production budgets from bidding through actualization, negotiating costs, tracking spend against estimates, monitoring variances, and maintaining financial accountability.
  • Source and manage DPs, social content creators, photographers, stylists, crews, freelancers, vendors, studios, locations, equipment, and other production partners.
  • Drive all aspects of pre-production, including locations and permits, travel, production vehicles, props, catering, insurance and COIs, releases, call sheets, and other shoot logistics.
  • Run on-set operations, keeping schedules, budgets, logistics, safety, and deliverables on track while solving challenges in real time and creating a professional environment for cast and crew.
  • Coordinate organized handoffs to post-production, ensuring assets, schedules, specifications, and deliverable requirements are communicated clearly and completely.
  • Guide and mentor production managers and coordinators, allocate work effectively, serve as an escalation point for complex projects, and continuously improve production workflows, templates, rate cards, tools, and partner networks.

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)

  • 5+ years of production experience in branded content, advertising, publishing, digital media, a production company, or a related environment.
  • Significant hands-on experience producing video and photography from pre-production through shoot, wrap, and actualization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex productions involving multiple deliverables, stakeholders, locations, talent, budgets, and timelines.
  • Strong working knowledge of production crews, equipment, studios, locations, permitting, insurance, releases, licensing, and production compliance.
  • Experience sourcing, negotiating with, and managing external vendors, freelancers, crews, and production partners.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or guiding production team members, with an ability to provide clear direction and thoughtful support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with creative leadership, clients, internal partners, vendors, and crews.
  • Strong judgment, resourcefulness, and attention to detail, with the ability to identify production risks early, recommend solutions, and remain effective as priorities change.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while protecting creative quality, timelines, budgets, and agreed-upon scope.
  • This role is based in New York City and requires working in the office four days per week.

Benefits (What We Offer)

  • Work with the Best: Collaborate with top-tier professionals across media, advertising, tech, fashion, lifestyle, and publishing, shaping the future of these dynamic industries.
  • Grow Your Skills: Unlock your potential with access to innovative training programs, immersive workshops, and exclusive industry events.
  • Work-Life Harmony: Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work, empowering you to balance professional success with personal priorities.
  • Foster Connection & Belonging: Join our Employee Resource Groups and help create a welcoming workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered.
  • Wellness First: Prioritize your well-being with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance from Day 1.
  • Plan for Your Financial Future: Enjoy competitive financial perks, including a 401(k) plan with a generous company match.

The base salary range for this role is $88,000-$95,000. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
