The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Discipline organization is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, System Security Engineering (SSE), integration and system level testing, identifying and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues, and developing automated or operator-driven tests in support of system-level integration, verification and validation.

Within SE&TC, Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Logistics, Technical Manuals, Training, Reliability, Maintainability, Supportability and Repair.

As the LTAMDS Technical Manual Writer, you’ll support the development of all aspects of the LTAMDS TMs. In this role, you’ll be part of a team of writers and illustrators in the development of operational and maintenance manuals for the LTAMDS program.

This position is on site in Huntsville, AL, Tewksbury, MA or El Paso, TX

What you will do:

  • Assess Engineering data for impacts to existing technical content.

  • Development of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)  and Technical Manuals, including material addressing:

  • System functional theory

  • Operations

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance, schematics and illustrated parts breakdowns from compiled engineering technical reports, drawings, and parts lists

  • Participate / support all Safety and Engineering Peer Reviews of TMs.

  • Participate / support all Validation requirements and events.

  • Participate in quality reviews of materials.

  • This role will require travel (up to 20%).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field

  • Experience creating/editing written technical or non-technical documentation in a military or civilian environment.

  • Experience of working independently to analyze technical documentation.

  • Experience of following established guidelines and standards

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with the Eagle Publishing System, MIL Standard 40051 or S1000D

  • Experience supporting projects in an Agile environment

  • Experience working in a cross-functional team, with a strong ability to communicate effectively within a geographically dispersed team.

  • Agile mindset with the ability to pivot when circumstances change, or direction is set.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and strategic thinking

  • Knowledgeable with ICC and Fire Unit Operations.

  • Patriot Master Gunner or Top Gun graduate.

  • Knowledgeable on organizational maintenance and remove and replace techniques.

  • Knowledgeable with radar theory and radar propagation.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
