Job description

Onward Education is a specialized education staffing and talent solutions company that helps educators, therapists, and school health professionals find top jobs with the nation's top schools. We're partnering with a school district in Maricopa County, AZ to hire dedicated Special Education Teacher supporting the 2026/2027 school year. This is an on-site, contract role for 32 hours per week, supporting a Middle School caseload.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: Aug 24, 2026
  • End Date: Spring 2027
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, full-time, up to 32 hours/week
  • Grade Levels: 6-8
  • Location: On-Site, Maricopa County, AZ
  • School Year: 2026/2027


Responsibilities:

  • Provide pull-out resource support with small-group and 1:1 specialized instruction aligned to student needs.
  • Deliver targeted skill-building interventions (e.g., reading, math, and social skills) to reinforce areas of difficulty.
  • Support students' participation in general education classes by coordinating services around their daily schedules.
  • Manage and monitor an assigned resource caseload (approximately 24 students) and maintain accurate service-related documentation.
  • Communicate consistently with school-based stakeholders to align on student supports and progress in the resource setting.


Qualifications:

  • Special education certification (required).
  • Ability to provide specialized instruction in a pull-out/resource model for targeted intervention.
  • Comfort supporting middle school students across grades 6-8.
  • Ability to manage a resource caseload and maintain organized documentation and follow-through.
  • Availability to work on-site on a Monday-Thursday schedule for 32 hours per week.
