POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Art Director executes and oversees the artistic development of design elements for various clients. Elements are developed for a variety of creative projects, including environmental design, presentations, brochures, catalogs, direct mail, corporate identity, POP, and signage. Designs will integrate typographic, photographic, illustrative, and graphic layouts that support a sound creative strategy. Must possess strong brand identity experience and show supporting work samples. The position requires involvement in collaborating in strategic design directions with the creative team, Design Directors and executing/managing direction and design standards across various channels. The position requires attention to detail, a careful eye for consistency, and multiple project organization. Clear, articulate communication and effective presentation skills are desired. Within the creative group, the Art Director works with the strategy and research, business development, environmental designers, and VP Design Directors to develop solid, problem-solving concepts for clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for the design, layout, and formatting of graphic project initiatives
  • Supervises freelancers and production standards on projects
  • Maintains and/or develops graphic identities and organizational consistency for clients across all jobs
  • Must work independently as well as collaboratively with design teams to strategically implement strong graphic concepts
  • Be able to guide graphic design, photography, typography, and layout development
  • Responsible for managing preparations for presentation materials and storyboarding
  • Manages copywriters and photographers when necessary
  • Capable of multi-tasking responsibilities and adapting to changes in schedules
  • Deep understanding of retail trends and influences that guide design
  • Present ideas/concepts to clients in a professional manner and handle feedback
  • Responsible for attending press checks when necessary and ensuring graphic standards of quality
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of different backgrounds

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college, University, or art school in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Communications, or a closely related field
Experience: 7-10 years in Art Direction. Must have an exhibit, tradeshow, or retail design experience.
Special Skills/Qualifications: Proficiency in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc).
Experience with design best practices as it relates to various channels including social, digital,
and physical. Thorough understanding of graphic design, photography, typography, and layout.
