Job Description

The Senior Data Analyst partners with internal teams to deliver data-driven insights and analytical solutions that support product strategy and business decision making across Appcast. This role is responsible for the full analytics lifecycle, including exploring raw datasets, integrating external data sources, and developing insights, models, and reporting solutions that drive strategic decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical and analytical expertise, critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

**Please note that candidates for this role must be located in either CO, AZ or MA. 

Job Responsibilities

Stakeholder Analytics  

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into data-driven insights and analytical solutions  
  • Present findings, recommendations, and performance insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences  
  • Act as a trusted advisor on analytics, measurement strategy, KPI development, performance optimization, and decision science methodologies  
  • Support strategic decision-making through reporting, forecasting, experimentation, and ongoing business and product performance analysis  

Data Exploration & Querying  

  • Query large-scale datasets using SQL in cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS Athena)  
  • Explore, validate, and reconcile data across multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability  
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and business opportunities  
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams to define and improve data pipelines and analytical workflows  

Data Transformation & Analysis  

  • Clean, manipulate, and transform complex datasets using Python (e.g., pandas, numpy)  
  • Build analytical frameworks and scalable reporting solutions for recurring business needs  
  • Perform advanced analyses (ie. cohort analysis, funnel analysis, attribution modeling, etc)  
  • Advocate for data quality, governance, and scalable analytical best practices  

Advanced Analytics & Modeling  

  • Develop forecasting models for volume, application trends, and business performance outcomes  
  • Apply statistical methodologies to evaluate product effectiveness and support strategic initiatives  
  • Design and support experimentation and measurement frameworks, including A/B testing and incrementality analysis  

Data Product Development  

  • Design and deliver custom data products (reports, dashboards, datasets, analytical tools)  
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and ensure deliverables align with business and product objectives  
  • Own projects end-to-end from intake and scoping to final presentation  
Qualifications

Analytical Thinking  

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguous requests  
  • Ability to connect data insights into business outcomes  
  • Experience with forecasting, modeling, or statistical analysis is a plus  

Technical Skills  

  • Strong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets (Athena, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)  
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis (pandas, numpy; scikit-learn is a plus)  
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar)  
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and data governance practices to support consistent, accurate, and scalable analytics across multiple data sources and systems 

Communication & Ownership  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Ability to present complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders  
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently from start to finish  

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field   
  • Advanced degree (Master’s/MBA) is a plus, not required  
  • 4-6+ years in data analytics, data science, consulting analytics, or related field  
  • Experience working in a client-facing or consulting environment strongly preferred  
  • Experience in recruitment marketing, HR tech, or performance marketing  
  • Familiarity with attribution modeling or multi-touch measurement  
  • Experience working with large-scale event or clickstream data  
  • AWS ecosystem experience 

Travel Requirements 

  • Travel for this position may include quarterly travel to attend internal and external meetings, however, this may vary based on business needs and opportunities. 

Fair Labor Standards Act Status  

  • Salaried Exempt: Personnel will earn their regular salary and not be entitled to overtime pay when they work over 40 hours in a work week.
