Description

Tyler Technologies is seeking applicants for an Infrastructure Engineer to support our State and Federal group.

The Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise Windows Server infrastructure across both on-premises data centers and the cloud. This role plays a key part in supporting business-critical production systems while helping modernize the infrastructure through an ongoing cloud migration initiative.

The engineer will be responsible for maintaining the health, security, and availability of Windows infrastructure by performing server administration, server provisioning and decommissioning, operating system patching, vulnerability remediation, troubleshooting, infrastructure deployments, and lifecycle management.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Windows infrastructure professional who demonstrates strong technical and troubleshooting expertise, operational discipline, excellent communication, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities while following established operational and change management processes.

We are not considering candidates who require visa sponsorship for this position. This is a budgetary decision and due to the significant talent available currently who do not require such sponsorship.

This is a hybrid role which will require 3 days onsite, in office, per week. 

Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain and support Windows Server infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Perform Windows server lifecycle activities including provisioning, upgrades, migrations, and decommissions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute recurring Windows Server operating system patching across the on-premises server environment.
  • Monitor patch compliance and investigate and remediate servers that fail to patch successfully.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call and monthly patching rotation supporting production infrastructure.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and respond to production incidents and operational alerts.
  • Manage Active Directory integration, DNS, Group Policy, IIS, DFS, file services, and related Windows infrastructure.
  • Support modernization efforts through infrastructure standardization and automation.
  • Maintain accurate Jira ticket documentation including work performed, blockers, progress updates, and completion notes.
  • Ensure infrastructure work is properly documented and completed in accordance with operational standards.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate operational and administrative tasks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, standardize infrastructure, and reduce manual effort.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, DNS, Group Policy, DFS and Windows File Services, PowerShell, SCCM, SCOM.
  • Experience with Windows patch management tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), WSUS, or equivalent.
  • Experience with VMWare deploying servers, editing server configurations, migrating hosts.
  • Strong understanding of load balanced environments and familiarity of common configuration techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
  • Self-motivated with the ability and desire to thrive in a high-pressure, client-service, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, combined with strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities are also required, as complex issues must be resolved in a timely manner.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with CrowdStrike, Tenable, or other vulnerability management platforms.
  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as Nagios, CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
  • Experience working in PCI, HIPAA, FEDRAMP compliant environments.
  • Experience supporting regulated or payment-processing environments.
  • Experience with enterprise cloud migration projects.
  • ITIL v3 or v4 Certified.
