The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Systems Engineer (Computer Hardware)-Journeyman. The salary range of this position is $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Systems Engineer (Computer Hardware)-Journeyman may include:
  • Performs programmatic or technical roles identifying, formulating, designing and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
  • Guides the engineering development of modern complex systems
  • Employs systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems
  • Researches, designs, develops or tests computer or computer-related equipment for commercial, industrial, military or scientific use
  • Supervises the manufacturing and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components
Must-haves:
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s Degree with 4 years of additional work experience (7 years total) OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 6 years of additional work experience (9 years total)
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working as a Systems Security Engineer (SSE) with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Experience configuring network firewalls, routers and switches
  • Experience with Software Assurance (SwA), Cybersecurity Plan Implementation (CPI) and cyber modeling, including threat and cyber risk modeling
  • Experience with encapsulation and Hash‑based Message Authentication Code (HMAC)
  • Experience with Utility Monitoring and Control Systems (UMCS) and Advanced Systems Components/Automation System Controls (ASC)
  • Experience with quantum computing
  • Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with MBSE
  • Experience with SysML
  • Experience with DOORS

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required
