Graphic Designers (Evergreen - Fulltime and Freelance)

This is a pipeline job requisition, meaning we are proactively gathering resumes for potential future openings in this role. Although there are no immediate positions available, we are eager to connect with talented individuals who share our organization's values and mission. Your resume will be reviewed and considered for upcoming opportunities as they arise.

The Graphic Designers will support various agencies and will be responsible for the following:

  • Use the following skills to create client deliverables: PPT design/formatting, MS Word design/formatting, InDesign skills, animation, illustration, social media design, and more.
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop a wide variety of materials (technical, promotional, informational, instructional), such as reports (could exceed 400 pages), brochures, posters, event materials including high-end booth displays, social media graphics, PowerPoint presentations, logos, and branding. 
  • Provide exceptional client service while remaining calm under pressure as clients’ needs frequently change.
  • Perform as a flexible team player to help Akoya deliver quality results.
  • Attend client meetings where highly complex technical information is shared and figure out how to create a high-design graphic that clearly portrays the core message.
  • Manage heavy production loads with multiple deadlines while adhering to the graphic standards for each client and maintaining keen attention to detail.
  • Independently create and manage project timelines with milestones and deadlines to ensure client and contract requirements are met.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree
  • U.S. citizenship is required with verbal and written fluency in English
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a federal security clearance (public trust level)
  • Some work may require designers to be based in Washington D.C. – Some roles may have to report to client locations up to five days per week.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strongly prefer federal contracting or agency experience.
  • Provide Section 508 compliance and testing to help the client meet requirements with websites, electronic documents, reports, and other materials. Have the knowledge required of testing methodologies to check materials for non-compliance. Prefer certification in 508, such as Trusted Tester Certification.
Base Compensation
  • Base compensation: $70,000 to $80,000 annually. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as location, education, years of experience, and candidate skillset.
