Role Overview

The Night Shift CNC Router Supervisor will manage night-to-night manufacturing in accordance with production schedule and management. They are the primary "go-to" operators on set-up of programs utilizing CAD/CAM software to prepare CNC programs for the CNC Routers.  Responsible for producing 2D and 3D components to high-quality aerospace standards. This position requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment that has changing demands throughout the course of the shift.  Flexibility while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees nightly CNC routing operations, ensuring jobs are completed on schedule and meet management targets.
  • Works closely with shop floor personnel to efficiently setup CNC programs.
  • Optimizes programs and manufacturing methods for continuous process improvement.
  • When required, work with management to resolve CAD data technical issues. Advise and assist in developing the manufacturing of complex fixtures.
  • Creates the machining process for new parts, or trouble shoots those more difficult.
  • Implements proper manufacturing methods to complete parts that conform to customer quality and dimensional requirements as well as our own internal quality system requirements including AS9100.
  • Set up preliminary runs to verify accuracy, provides feedback for process improvements.
  • Provides recommendations to improve production methods, best use of equipment, and choice of tooling.
  • Diagnoses and rectifies tooling problems and machine malfunctions.
  • Performs in-process inspections on parts using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Observes and enforces shop floor cleanliness, ensures equipment preventative maintenance actions and documents are executed regularly, and upkeep pursuant to safety rules and company policies and holds assigned employees accountable to them.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with SAI Enroute CAD/CAM software (3+ years preferred)
  • Experience with machining a wide range of engineered technical materials such as: Pyron, plastics, ablative cork, GFRP, Phenolic, Kevlar, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in an aerospace, AS9100 environment preferred.
  • Ability to understand blueprints and engineering drawings with knowledge of geometric tolerancing.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry/trigonometry concepts that apply to machining.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including but not limited to frequent standing and walking; occasional climbing and balancing on large equipment; kneeling; bending; and crouching; occasional lifting or moving up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong safety, quality, and teamwork orientation with track record of dependability.
  • Relief modeling experience a plus.
  • Basic tooling knowledge is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of CNC routers and the machining process.
  • Adhere to company policy including safety guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Job Details

Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Base Pay Range: $30-33/hr

Business Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11:30pm EST, 9/80 Schedule

Base Location: Cape Canaveral, FL

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance. 401K company match (eligibility required), paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
