American Ramp Company is seeking an Efficiency Expert/Production Manager. This position is in our in-house production area, which is nominally metal fabrication using CNC equipment such as a laser cutter, brake press, plasma tube processor, router, sheet roller, pipe and tube roller, and standard welding/cutting/tapping operations. This is a position which will evolve into a larger role over time as familiarity with the company is accrued.

Initial Responsibilities (as Efficiency Expert)

  • Set, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure improvement.
  • Conduct time and motion studies, and identify inefficiencies.
  • Optimize workflows to maximize productivity and reduce costs.
  • Help design facility layouts for equipment related to production operations.
  • Generate work instructions, documentation and reports.

Evolution Responsibilities (as Production Manager)

  • Determine labor, equipment, and material requirements to meet production goals.
  • Plan and organize Production schedule to meet required schedule.
  • Set productivity goals.
  • Resolve day-to-day problems to maintain Production schedule.
  • Coordinate and plan routine preventative maintenance schedules for equipment.
  • Hire, train, and supervise all Production personnel.
  • Mentor all Production personnel to enhance skills, increase efficiency, and provide professional growth paths.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety regulations and policies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Ability to interpret and analyze data and trends.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or similar background.
  • Ability to use CAD software.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • 3 to 5 years relevant work experience in a related environment.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification a plus.

Pay will be commensurate with experience.
