CNC MACHINIST NEEDED

New Era Custom Design and Cabinet Works Inc. is looking for a top CNC Machinist for our CNC routers. We offer top pay and benefits for our employees.

Our company manufactures and installs high-quality architectural millwork throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. New Era uses the latest CNC milling technology for woodworking applications. We have been in business since 1979 and have worked on some of the areas highest-profile projects, so quality milling and attention to detail are a must.

New Era is located in Frederick, Maryland, approximately one hour from both Washington, DC and Baltimore. Our headquarters includes a 70,000-square-foot manufacturing facility with the latest CNC machining centers. Our facility has two nested-based routers for cutting wood parts and acrylic-based panels.

Our current work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Many of our products and projects ship across the country for Fortune 500 companies and other construction sites. Products we mill and machine include cabinetry, countertops, reception desks, custom radius trims and nosing, templates, and much more.

Job Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machining centers to produce precision parts

  • Load raw materials onto machines

  • Interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure parts meet tolerances and quality standards

  • Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and adjustments as necessary

  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges

  • Troubleshoot machining programs and processes

  • Maintain machine tools, cutting equipment, and workstations in a clean and safe condition

  • Complete documentation such as job travelers, inspection reports, and nonconformance records

  • Collaborate with engineers and bench mechanics to improve machining processes and implement lean manufacturing practices

  • Follow all company compliance requirements

  • Monitor tool wear and change bits as needed

  • Utilize AutoCAD software to draw custom parts to specific sizes and tolerances

  • Mill templates and other fixtures for woodworking

  • Perform other duties as assigned
