We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join a precision manufacturing team in Plymouth, Michigan.

This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who enjoys programming, setup, troubleshooting, and running their own parts from start to finish. You will play an important role in producing high-quality components while working with modern CNC turning equipment in a team-focused manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

Programming & Process Development

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC lathe programs using G-code and CAM software such as Esprit or Fusion 360
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements
  • Improve existing programs to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve machining processes

CNC Setup & Operation

  • Perform complete CNC lathe setups including tooling, offsets, and workholding
  • Operate CNC lathes including Mazak, DMG Mori, and Doosan equipment
  • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and consistency
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, materials, and machine performance

Quality & Documentation

  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring equipment
  • Ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerances
  • Maintain setup sheets, tooling documentation, and production records

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Provide technical support and share machining knowledge with other team members
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and process optimization

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience as a CNC Lathe Programmer and Machinist
  • Strong CNC lathe setup and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience programming with G-code
  • CAM programming experience with Esprit, Fusion 360, or similar software
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience with Mazak, DMG Mori, Doosan, or similar CNC turning equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Competitive pay: $28-$35 per hour based on experience
  • First shift schedule
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Stable, full-time position
  • Opportunity to work with advanced CNC equipment
  • Team environment that values skill, quality, and craftsmanship
