What You Will Do:
- Run and automate simulation workflows to screen candidates and generate property/performance predictions.
- Apply computational chemistry methods (DFT/MD/Monte Carlo) and interpret outputs to guide R&D decisions.
- Develop QSAR/QSPR models and analytics linking molecular features to target performance.
- Select/parameterize force fields; perform QM calculations for key molecular properties.
- Package simulation/AI results into actionable recommendations and validation plans with lab teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Geology, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related fields with 6+ years of experience; or M.S. in Chemistry, Geology, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields with 8+ years of experience
- Prior experience in data integration and data engineering
- Proficiency with molecular simulation software (examples like Biovia Materials Studio).
- Strong foundation in computational chemistry: DFT, MD, Monte Carlo.
- Force field selection/parameterization; QM calculations for molecular properties.
- QSAR/QSPR modeling; data analysis and visualization.
- Scripting/workflow automation (Python, Perl, or Materials Studio scripting).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Applied experience in surfactants, corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, polymers, interfacial chemistry.
- Oil & gas / specialty chemicals industry background.
- Publication record or strong applied modeling project portfolio.
- Bonus: synthetic chemistry awareness for feasibility/scale-up and rough manufacturability signals.
