Job description

HireHawk is looking to partner with an experienced Legal Recruiter, ideally based in Connecticut, who has a strong understanding of the legal talent market and an established ability to source and engage high-quality legal professionals.
This is less of a traditional freelance role and more of a recruiting partnership. We're looking for someone who can bring their own recruiting expertise, network, and sourcing capabilities while collaborating closely with HireHawk's internal recruiting team on active searches.
You'll have the flexibility to manage your own recruiting activity and candidate relationships while benefiting from the support and resources of our internal team.
You may recruit across positions such as:
  • Attorneys and associates
  • Partners and counsel
  • In-house legal professionals
  • Paralegals and legal assistants
  • Legal operations professionals
  • Compliance and regulatory professionals
  • Other specialized legal roles

How this partnership works:
As a recruiting partner with HireHawk, you'll primarily focus on sourcing, engaging, and qualifying legal talent for active opportunities.
You will be expected to have and use your own LinkedIn Recruiter account as your primary sourcing tool. HireHawk can complement your efforts with support from our internal recruiting team.
The goal is to create a collaborative partnership where you can focus on leveraging your legal recruiting expertise and network without operating entirely on your own.
Responsibilities:
  • Source and engage qualified legal candidates through your own LinkedIn Recruiter account, professional networks, referrals, databases, and other recruiting channels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with attorneys and other legal professionals.
  • Evaluate candidates based on experience, practice area, qualifications, career objectives, and fit for available opportunities.
  • Conduct initial candidate conversations and screening.
  • Present qualified candidates for relevant opportunities through HireHawk.
  • Collaborate with HireHawk's internal recruiting team throughout the search and placement process.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication regarding candidate activity and search progress.
  • Continue developing your own network and pipeline of legal talent.
  • Represent HireHawk and our opportunities professionally while maintaining candidate confidentiality.
  • Stay informed about hiring trends and talent movement within the legal market, particularly in Connecticut and the surrounding region.

Requirements
  • Previous legal recruiting experience is required (non negotiable)
  • Must have access to your own LinkedIn Recruiter account.
  • Strong familiarity with law firms, corporate legal departments, and/or the broader legal talent market.
  • Strong sourcing and candidate-engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with legal professionals.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable managing your own recruiting activity in a remote environment.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and respect for confidential information.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate closely with HireHawk's internal recruiting team.
  • Based in Connecticut or deeply familiar with the Connecticut legal market.
  • Existing relationships with attorneys, law firms, or other legal professionals in Connecticut.
  • An established network of legal talent.
  • Experience recruiting within specific practice areas or geographic markets.

Ideal Partner:
  • Experienced legal recruiters looking to develop an ongoing recruiting partnership.
  • Independent legal recruiters with established attorney networks.
  • Agency recruiters interested in collaborating on additional searches.
  • Former legal recruiters returning to the industry with an existing network.
  • Legal professionals who have transitioned into recruiting and have strong industry relationships.

We're particularly interested in building a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership with someone who knows the Connecticut legal market, can independently generate strong candidate pipelines, and values having an internal recruiting team to collaborate with and support their efforts.
