Job Description

NBCUniversal’s Ad Sales Creative Group, part of Rock Studios, an industry-leading, award-winning team that develops groundbreaking creative campaigns and premium marketing experiences for the world’s most influential brands. We partner closely with advertisers to deliver custom, multi-platform solutions that leverage the power of NBCUniversal’s iconic content, talent, and audiences across linear, digital, and streaming platforms.

We are seeking an experienced Associate Producer to join our dynamic team and help drive high-priority strategic initiatives across NBCUniversal’s Ad Sales organization and broader corporate priorities. This role partners closely with creative, project management, communications, operations, and executive leadership to plan and execute a diverse portfolio of projects.

The Associate Producer is responsible for producing breakthrough NBCU cross-portfolio video and stills content. In the fast-paced environment of an agency, you must embrace tight deadlines and manage teams efficiently to deliver the highest quality of content for the most cost-effective approach.

You'll guide and connect the internal creative and production teams with the latest leading innovative technologies, production companies, and industry creative resources to collaborate with. You will interface heavily with the entire sales organization, advertising clients, network creative & production teams, and celebrity talent teams. You will also oversee the budgetary and physical production needs of all shoots and liaises with the post-production teams through delivery of content.

This position will report into the Executive Producer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently manage all aspects of smaller-scale physical and editorial productions from end-to-end and support senior production team on larger complex productions where necessary
  • Duties include: drafting internal budgets and estimates for all productions, managing pre-production logistics (crew booking, vendor onboarding and paperwork coordination, etc.), supervising live action shoots (including hiring and managing freelance production personnel and vendors for internal and external productions), and supervising editorial sessions through delivery.
  • Produce projects ranging from internal videos, branded content, social content, digital-only videos (short & long form) to supporting senior production team on larger 360 broadcast and digital campaigns
  • Work closely with legal, BA, music services, finance teams and payroll companies to manage clearances and substantiation, cost reporting and best practices for all broadcast and digital content
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience leading small-scale physical commercial productions end-to-end on a television network, production company (freelance experience accepted) and/or advertising agency
  • Ability to produce quality content within a broad range of budgets up to $250K
  • On-set production experience (including being extensive knowledge in union, guild & labor laws), as well as post-production rates, timelines & budget
  • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours as job duties or assignment requires, sometimes with little or no advance notification, ability to travel as required
  • Basic knowledge of negotiating with vendors in the industry to collaborate on projects, and enthusiasm in developing relationships with new vendors
  • Must have proven on-set experience with celebrity talent; experience filming with vehicles, food and all category products and services
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing productions simultaneously and successfully
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work in New York City with mandatory in-office attendance required

DESIRED QUALITIES:

  • Proven experience confidently managing complex, cross-functional projects within production, marketing, communications, creative, media, or related environments. 
  • Basic understanding of pre-production workflows, including creative development, timeline creation and management, production company and director search, and project bidding
  • Strong knowledge of post-production workflows including VFX, color correction, audio mixing, music licensing and delivery
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines, still delivering a product of excellence
  • Highly organized, efficient and effective/excellent communicator
  • Collaboration is key to our success - must excel in working with teams across the organization as well as external partners

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
