Job description

Higher Logic exists to connect people, knowledge, and ideas to improve lives and organizations. Through our community solutions, we empower growth-stage businesses and associations to build a more engaged and meaningful relationship with their customers and members. Higher Logic serves more than 3,000 customers, representing over 350,000 online communities with greater than 200 million users in more than 42 countries worldwide.

Our team is a thriving community of authentic people with diverse experiences and perspectives. We are honest and genuine and believe that sharing ideas and feedback openly helps us to be successful. We believe that diversity and empathy bring us #AllTogether to make us stronger. We learn from failure and successes because both help us to grow and learn. We strive to understand the why behind our actions and bring our best selves to work every day.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Higher Logic is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to help us create useful, engaging content for two core audiences: associations and B2B companies.

Reporting to the Senior Content Marketing Manager, this person will contribute ideas to Higher Logic's broader content strategy and independently manage content projects from concept through publication and promotion. The role is highly hands-on and includes writing and editing blog posts, ebooks, guides, webinar content, website copy, and organic social media content.

This person will also help manage Higher Logic's social media presence. Social media experience is highly preferred, but this is not solely a social media position.

The right candidate will be an adaptable writer and thoughtful marketer who enjoys working across formats, helping brands tell compelling stories, and turning business priorities into clear, valuable content.

Higher Logic is a high-trust, collaborative organization. Some projects will begin with an established brief or campaign direction, while others will give this person the opportunity to recommend an approach and shape the work themselves. We are looking for someone who can become comfortable with our audiences, products, and voice and then confidently move projects forward without extensive day-to-day direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create blog posts, ebooks, guides, webinar content, website copy, organic social content, and occasional email or campaign copy.
  • Contribute ideas to the broader editorial calendar by identifying audience needs, industry developments, and timely content opportunities.
  • Manage assigned content projects from initial concept through research, drafting, stakeholder review, revision, publication, and promotion.
  • Help manage Higher Logic's organic social media channels, including content planning, writing, scheduling, publishing, engagement, and performance reporting.
  • Create social media carousels, short-form videos, and other visual content using established design templates.
  • Interview and collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex ideas, product information, research, and industry trends into clear and useful content.
  • Adapt messaging for different audiences, formats, and channels while maintaining a consistent Higher Logic brand voice.
  • Apply SEO and digital discoverability best practices to content planning and production.
  • Manage freelance writers and other external content partners when projects are outsourced, including developing briefs, providing feedback, and maintaining deadlines and quality standards.
  • Review content and social performance to identify lessons and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with demand generation, product marketing, customer marketing, brand, design, subject matter experts, and other partners across Higher Logic.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Higher Logic values, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge and Abilities Required

  • At least three years of relevant experience in content marketing, editorial, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience writing and editing both long-form and short-form content for multiple formats.
  • Working knowledge of SEO principles and their application to content creation.
  • Comfort using AI-powered tools and documented workflows to accelerate content development, streamline repeatable tasks, and improve team efficiency, while maintaining strong editorial judgment and quality control.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to turn complex or loosely defined topics into accessible, audience-focused content.
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • The initiative and judgment to move work forward independently while knowing when to seek input or collaboration.
  • Comfort using performance data to evaluate content and inform future work.
  • Experience collaborating with designers, marketers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders.
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing organic social media channels for a brand or organization.
  • Experience managing freelance writers, agencies, or content vendors.
  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS, associations, membership organizations, online communities, or marketing technology.
  • Familiarity with tools such as WordPress, Semrush, GA4, HubSpot, Salesforce, Hootsuite, Canva, ChatGPT, or Riverside.

What You Can Expect

  • A remote working environment, with access to Higher Logic's Arlington-area headquarters for employees located near Washington, D.C.
  • A collaborative marketing team that values thoughtful ideas, open feedback, and strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Meaningful ownership of projects and the autonomy to determine how your work takes shape.
  • The opportunity to work across content formats, audience segments, and channels rather than being limited to one area of marketing.
  • A team that is actively experimenting with AI and improving the way content work gets done.

You'll earn:

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Comprehensive health benefits package.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Healthcare and dependent-care flexible spending account.
  • Company short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • Company culture that recognizes its employees.
  • Room for growth and development and management that cares about your professional growth and will help you achieve your goals.
  • Significant advancement opportunities for outstanding performers.
