About the Department of Pathology:

Comprised of extraordinary faculty and staff, our mission is to improve the ability to diagnose, treat and understand the origin and manifestation of human disease, and to care for those who have or are at risk to develop disease. We accomplish this through our clinical services (in all fields of anatomic and clinical pathology, including molecular and genomic pathology, histocompatibility testing and transfusion medicine) and be research (which includes basic, translational and clinical research into the origins and manifestations of disease, including efforts to improve disease prediction and prevention as part of the goal of achieving precision medicine and health), and also by educating future leaders in pathology and related fields. About the Position:

The Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford University is seeking a Research Data Analyst 2 - Biomedical Data Science. This position will lead the development of research data infrastructure that integrates and harmonizes multimodal clinical research data across studies. The successful candidate will apply modern data science, biomedical informatics, and artificial intelligence methods to create standardized, research-ready datasets that accelerate discovery in allergy and immunology. At the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research, the world's leading scientists, physician scientists, and research teams come together to study and understand the molecular underpinnings of allergies and asthma. We are committed to finding causes, treatments, and cures for allergies and asthma, and bringing these to children, adults, and their families at local and global levels. Transforming lives with innovative science and compassionate care. We are seeking a candidate who sits at the intersection of biomedical research, data science, and artificial intelligence, with experience developing research data infrastructure, harmonizing complex clinical datasets, and applying AI-enabled analytical approaches to accelerate translational research.

Duties include:
  • Create complex charts and databases, perform statistical analyses, and develop graphs and tables for publication and presentation.
  • Assist with the design of data collection instruments and statistical analysis plans under the supervision of research data manager and a senior biostatistician
  • Prioritize and extract data from a variety of sources such as notes, survey results, medical reports, and laboratory data, and maintain its accuracy and completeness.
  • Design and customize reports based upon data in the database.
  • Oversee and monitor regulatory compliance for utilization of the data.
  • Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate root cause for data problems or justify solutions to be implemented by others.
  • Serve as a resource for nonโ€‘routine inquiries such as requests for statistics or surveys.
  • Test prototype software and participate in approval and release process for new software.
  • Provide documentation based on audit and reporting criteria to investigators and research staff.
  • Lead efforts to harmonize clinical, laboratory, genomic, biospecimen, imaging, and patientโ€‘reported outcomes data collected across multiple studies into standardized research datasets that support secondary analyses, precision medicine initiatives, and artificial intelligence applications.
