Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
• Writing detailed system requirements for various aspects and features of semi-autonomous agricultural vehicles.
• Acting as interface between Platform, Marketing, Software Engineers and External Suppliers/Partners for requirements gathering and clarification.
• Specifying and acquiring Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) system for autoguidance testing, interfacing to external suppliers.
• Creating and executing automatic regression testing, analyzing test results and driving issues to resolution.
• Planning and performing development testing various systems on vehicles.
• Using rapid prototyping techniques to implement and test guidance algorithms on various CNHi vehicles, collecting data, modifying parameters and algorithms, analyzing data, solving problems and writing reports.
• Identifying bugs and performance issues with guidance algorithms and pushing to root cause.
• Applying the latest vehicle development processes to the development and test of guidance systems for agricultural vehicles.
• Testing and integration of supplier designed model-based and C code algorithms with CNHi hardware and software.
• Assist in planning development work for suppliers.
Skill Set
The qualified candidate will have: • B.S. Degree in Electrical, Computer, Agriculture Engineering and/or related area of study • Minimum 4 years of systems design experience or Masters Degree and 2 years of systems design experience • Minimum of 2 years of experience with typical off-highway control systems technology including position sensors, hydraulic valves, electronic modules and fault detection Preferred Qualifications: • Understanding of vehicle control systems operation, including electronic controls and software, GPS, hydraulic valves, position sensors, yaw rate sensors, accelerometers and similar • Practical experience with GPS, autoguidance and precision farming systems • Experience operating various agricultural, construction equipment and/or trucks and familiarity with farming equipment and operations • Familiarity with vehicle bus systems such as CAN • Knowledge of Model-based Design and "V" design model • Knowledge of autonomous Vehicles and Robots Programming • Familiarity with calibration tools such as CANalyzer, ControlDesk, CANape or Inca • Ability to write and debug embedded C code • Familiarity with inertial measurement units and Kalman Filters • Any experience with Matlab, dSpace or National Instruments products • Experience with ISO 25119 or similar functional safety standards
