JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME

Operates and maintains systems for all aspects of audio/video/lighting and special large-scale A/V projects for ORU.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in the setup and operation of large-scale audio and visual systems at the Mabee Center, Christ Chapel, and other indoor and outdoor venues around campus.
  • Provides assistance with setup and operation of lighting, video and audio equipment in Christ Chapel for chapel services and special events.
  • Provides production assistance with special events both on and off campus as needed.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the audio and visual equipment in the various venues on campus.
COMPETENCIES
Knowledge & Experience
  • Requires High School diploma or GED
  • Requires a minimum of two years of work as an ORU Production Services Student Worker OR two years full-time experience working in a similar entertainment center/event/arena setting.
  • Must have working knowledge of large-scale audio, video and lighting systems.
  • Proven ability to work without constant supervision both with and without instruction.
  • Be able to take direction and responsibility for follow-up of assigned tasks to ensure they are completed satisfactorily and on time.
  • Previous experience in supervising student workers or other staff/volunteer personnel is preferred.

Skills & Abilities
  • Computer literate to include Microsoft Suite, Google Suite with proficiency on Mac.
  • Basic knowledge of various production systems and software is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of networking; Experience with Luminex and NetgearAV preferred.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot problems, provide suitable solutions quickly and accurately, and work under stress.
  • Must be able to work effectively with faculty, staff, administration, students, and external clients of diverse backgrounds and experience.
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task amid a fast-paced, high demand work environment.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism with information.
  • Must be flexible with changing expectations and desired outcomes from event stakeholders.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Physical and environmental demands will include but not be limited to the following:
  • To include but not limited to sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, twisting of upper body, lifting up to 75lbs, and the manual dexterity for operation, installation, and as needed maintenance on equipment.
  • Vision to include: near, far, visual accommodation, color, and depth perception.
  • Inside building comfort most of the time, with occasional outside work around campus in both hot and cold conditions.
  • Will be working with and around electrical equipment and a high noise environment.
  • Occasional off-site setup and operation of A/V and production equipment for events.

This is a full-time, on-site position requiring regular availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays for university events both on and off campus. Some travel may be required with occasional use of personal vehicle.
