Position Summary: Asset Recovery Manager
AmeriCU Credit Union is seeking an experienced Asset Recovery Manager to lead and oversee all specialty collection processes across consumer, commercial, and real estate portfolios. The Asset Recovery Manager will play a critical role in minimizing risk, reducing delinquency, and driving effective recovery strategies while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
This role partners closely with leadership to support loan performance, vendor oversight, and strategic recovery initiatives while maintaining a member-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities: Asset Recovery Manager
  • Oversee and manage all recovery processes including:
    • Repossessions
    • Bankruptcies
    • Foreclosures
    • Legal collections
    • Charge-offs
  • Manage third-party collection agencies and vendor relationships across lending portfolios
  • Monitor commercial lending portfolios, including risk rating, loan performance, and delinquency trends
  • Lead and develop the Asset Recovery team through:
    • Coaching and training
    • Performance management
    • Development planning
  • Partner with leadership to ensure cohesive recovery strategies and reduce loss exposure
  • Develop and implement policies and strategies to maximize asset recovery outcomes
  • Collaborate with lending teams on:
    • Loan modifications
    • Workout solutions
    • Payment relief programs
  • Analyze trends and provide reporting to leadership to support strategic decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve portfolio performance and profitability
  • Handle member interactions with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach
