About Right Side Up
Please note, this posting is to highlight joining Right Side Up's talent collective specifically and is not representing an internal full-time role, or a current opportunity with a client.
Right Side Up is a collective of premium marketing talent-with all of the marketing chops, and none of the agency fluff. We're trusted by the most respected early-stage ventures, the fastest-growing tech companies, and well-established Fortune 500 teams to do one thing better: Growth. Our 250+ clients include notable brands such as Stitch Fix, Sephora, Yelp, Sun Basket, Crunchbase, DoorDash, Calm, and more.
About The Role
We're seeking freelance Lifecycle Marketing Consultants to join our talent collective and support a range of clients across industries. This role is ideal for marketers who can design and execute lifecycle strategies that drive engagement, retention, and revenue across the customer journey.
Projects may include building lifecycle programs from the ground up, optimizing existing email and CRM strategies, or scaling cross-channel customer engagement efforts. Contract engagements typically range from 10-40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute lifecycle marketing strategies across the full customer journey (acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, reactivation)
  • Build and optimize email, SMS, and in-app messaging programs
  • Design and implement automated journeys, triggers, and segmentation strategies
  • Collaborate with product, growth, and data teams to align on lifecycle goals and initiatives
  • Analyze campaign performance and continuously optimize based on engagement and revenue metrics
  • Create and manage campaign calendars and testing roadmaps
  • Ensure data integrity and proper tracking across lifecycle channels
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations to improve customer lifetime value

Requirements
  • Strong experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, or retention marketing across either B2C, B2B, or D2C
  • Experience building and scaling lifecycle programs across multiple channels
  • Familiarity with email service providers and marketing automation tools (e.g., Customer.io, Braze, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Marketo, Iterable, SendGrid, or similar)
  • Experience with segmentation, personalization, and automation best practices
  • Ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into action
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Comfort working across different industries, products, and customer journeys

Nice to Have
  • Experience with SMS or push notification channels
  • Familiarity with data tools (e.g., SQL, Segment, Amplitude, Mixpanel)
  • Experience in high-growth startup environments
  • Experience supporting both strategic planning and hands-on execution
