Job description

Last Mile Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Designer to lead automation and material handling equipment (MHE) initiatives of developing next generation, world-class Last Mile transportation building designs. We're looking to add high-impact engineers to our team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our delivery stations.

Your projects will be a variety of delivery station concepts and template-based design solutions that will enhance the effectiveness of Amazon's last mile network. You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment.
Ability to travel 40% to interact with internal and external business, operational and technical leaders.
Key job responsibilities
Lead and coordinate design efforts to develop optimal automation/MHE equipment design solutions for the last mile network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors and stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects, retrofits and building designs
Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.
Ability to travel up to 40% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.
