The Production Location Lead/Production Manager will lead the onsite production team for an established multi-channel retailer company. This key role is responsible for:
  • overseeing the day-to-day operations, coordination, and execution of all onsite productions;
  • partnering with the client events team and hosts to collaborate on production support needs;
  • managing the AVI-SPL staff within the assigned location; and
  • providing direct event coordination support for assigned productions and events as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Production Location Lead will lead the onsite production team for an established global technology company. This key role is responsible for:
  • overseeing the day-to-day operations, coordination, and execution of all onsite productions;
  • partnering with the client events team and hosts to collaborate on production support needs;
  • managing the AVI-SPL staff within the assigned location; and
  • providing direct event coordination support for assigned productions and events as needed.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILIITES
Team Management
  • Oversee the onsite team responsible for providing high-quality production support through professional quality video, audio, lighting, and presentation to allow the client and external partners to connect and communicate their message in a distinct and technologically innovative way to colleagues and customers alike.
  • Serve as the first-tier escalation point of contact for service needs with the client team.
  • Implement training program to develop personnel and ensure they have the skillset and knowledge to effectively perform their roles and provide recommendations and opportunities for advancing capabilities.
  • Ensure minimum staffing levels are always met and oversee the development of contingency and backfill plans including freelancer pool development in local market to ensure no interruption to service.
  • Support the assessment and recommendation of solutions about functionality of studio and event spaces based on operational requirements and event scope.
  • Develop and provide key factors analysis report to manager on a quarterly basis.
  • Assess personal performance and hold review with personnel inclusive of corrective measures as necessary.
  • Ensure maximum utilization of internal employees and resources.

Production Management
  • Collaborate with client events team on technical broadcast approach and design of productions for assigned location.
  • Manage and maintain the production schedule for assigned location including staff and resource allocations.
  • Maintain relationships with AVI-SPL production resources and vendors for scalable support including location-based video production and event production companies for additional equipment and crewing needs.
  • Conduct weekly production meetings to assess project progress and identify issues, provide guidance, and ensure coverage of all upcoming events.
  • Perform post-mortems of productions to analyze what went right, what went wrong, and make recommendations for future improvements.
  • Oversee monthly budget afor all event production ad hoc costs and communicate with client stakeholders on operational costs.

Production Coordination
  • Meet with events team and requestors to plan and review event needs and provide recommendations on production enhancements to execute on event vision.
  • Coordinate the technical production needs for all events and ensure requirements are in full compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate equipment rental and other supplemental production requirements.
  • Oversee postproduction needs including basic editing and delivery of recordings.
  • Organize event metrics and feedback and provide recommendations on areas for improvement.
  • Fill in necessary production crew positions as needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in live event production, event coordination, broadcast, audio/visual, and video production, or other similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience in:
    • leading, mentoring, and developing teams
    • onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events
    • database and scheduling management
    • coordinating logistics with multiple entities or vendors
  • Strong technical knowledge of traditional event production, broadcast, and digital equipment.
  • Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during high pressure situations.
  • Ability to communicate challenging aspects to clients while maintaining a high level of confidence and leadership.
  • Track record of being organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and working well in a team atmosphere, as well as having the capability to work well individually, is essential.
  • Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence, and perspective.
  • Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills with the understanding of the importance of white glove service.
  • Consistent proactive preparation and timely responses to multiple channels of communication.
  • Ability to collect and analyze metrics, extract trending data, and provide continuous improvement recommendations.

Nice-to-have skills
  • Knowledgeable in the operations and technical execution of video production, audio-visual technology, and event space facilities.
  • Experience in various production roles including but not limited to technical directing, audio mixing, camera operation, and editing.
  • College degree in video production, broadcasting, communications, or similar field.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Travel is required based on requirements and location of productions and service needs including meetings at client offices and AVI-SPL offices.
