Exciting Opportunity: East Asia Regional Director - Youth for Christ
Youth for Christ is seeking a passionate leader to serve as the East Asia Regional Director, a pivotal role in expanding and strengthening Youth for Christ ministries across the region. This position involves developing a strategic vision, supporting National Directors, and pioneering new Youth for Christ programs in unreached nations. The role also includes organizing regional events, training leaders, securing ministry partners, and ensuring compliance with Youth for Christ International's chartering requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, cross-cultural sensitivity, and a heart for empowering youth ministry across East Asia.
This full-time, remote position requires living within the Asia Pacific Area and working closely with the Area Director. The East Asia Regional Director will lead a Regional Leadership Team, helping to build strong national ministries while engaging in fundraising for personal support. East Asia Regional Director - Youth for Christ
Overview:
The East Asia Regional Director supports the Area Director in developing and expanding Youth for Christ ministries across the East Asia Region. This includes strengthening existing national programs and pioneering new ones.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a regional strategy in consultation with the Area Director
  • Support, train, and build capacity in existing national Youth for Christ programs
  • Monitor and guide National Directors in leadership, strategy, and ministry growth
  • Assist in leadership succession planning and governance compliance
  • Pioneer and develop Youth for Christ ministries in new nations
  • Organize and oversee regional events, councils, training, and prayer initiatives
  • Gather and analyze demographic, cultural, and ministry-related data
  • Secure financial and prayer partners for ministry sustainability
  • Ensure national programs comply with Youth for Christ International chartering requirements
  • Represent and promote Youth for Christ at various events, foundations, and donor engagements

Reporting & Employment Terms:
  • Reports to the Area Director via written reports, meetings, and appraisals
  • Initial one-year contract, reviewed after six months, with potential renewal
  • Three-month notice for termination (immediate dismissal for gross misconduct)

Qualifications & Expectations:
  • Active and participating member of a local evangelical church
  • Committed to Youth for Christ's mission, values, and maintaining its reputation
  • Adaptability to evolving ministry needs and responsibilities
  • Previous Youth for Christ experience preferred
  • Willing to engage in Partnership Development to raise personal support
  • Experience leading a team
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills
  • Speaking multiple languages is desirable
  • Experience interacting with other cultures (culturally sensitive)
