Job description

Job Summary

The Senior Analyst, Franchise Feasibility & Investments plays a critical role in supporting strategic hotel development initiatives through financial analysis, market evaluation, investment modeling, and business intelligence. This position partners closely with Franchise Development, Franchise Operations, Finance, and executive leadership to assess franchise opportunities and drive data-informed investment decisions. The role leverages market and property analytics to evaluate development opportunities, forecast financial outcomes, and align Choice Hotels' profitability objectives with franchisee success. The Senior Analyst supports strategic decision-making through franchise valuation analysis, feasibility assessments, investment modeling, and enterprise reporting. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, financial modeling expertise, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex business insights to stakeholders across the organization.

** This role is not eligible for sponsorship AND is four days onsite hybrid at our North Bethesda, MD office.**

Key Responsibilities

Franchise Feasibility & Investment Analysis

  • Conduct franchise feasibility, market opportunity, asset evaluation, and investment analyses to support strategic hotel development initiatives.

  • Prepare deal value analyses by evaluating market revenue opportunities, capital deployment scenarios, pricing strategies, and other key business drivers.

  • Perform franchise contract and pipeline valuation analyses to support organizational planning and decision-making.

  • Develop financial projections and business cases utilizing investment analysis methodologies including discounted cash flow (DCF), net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and cash flow waterfall modeling.

  • Maintain and enhance recurring deal valuation, pipeline, and development reporting.

  • Evaluate new hotel franchise opportunities to ensure strategic and financial alignment with company objectives.

  • Partner with Business Intelligence and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and improve analytical tools and reporting capabilities.

  • Provide forward-looking business insights and performance reporting to leadership.

  • Support management presentations and business reviews through financial analysis and strategic recommendations.

Strategic Finance Support

  • Perform research and analysis to support strategic initiatives and special projects.

  • Assist with financial modeling, feasibility assessments, and investment evaluations.

  • Develop executive-level presentations and supporting materials for senior leadership and Board-level discussions.

  • Review investment proposals and evaluate financial assumptions, projections, and business cases for accuracy and strategic alignment.

  • Collaborate across Finance, Franchise Development, Operations, and other business functions to support key enterprise initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Hospitality, or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, real estate feasibility, investment analysis, corporate finance, or a related analytical discipline.

  • Experience supporting business decisions through quantitative analysis and financial evaluation.

  • Experience working with large datasets and translating findings into actionable business insights.

  • Hospitality, franchising, real estate, or lodging industry experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong financial analysis and financial modeling capabilities.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Knowledge of investment valuation methodologies including DCF, NPV, and IRR analysis.

  • Ability to analyze market, property, and business performance data to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-financial audiences.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and critical reasoning skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

  • Experience with Tableau, SQL, or other business intelligence tools preferred.

  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across functions.

  • Demonstrated organizational, project management, and time management skills.

  • Adaptability and ability to perform effectively in ambiguous or evolving business situations.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $86,886 -102,219.
