Job description

R&M Framing is a up-scale custom picture framing and printing shop based in Midtown Sacramento’s art district, with a new Roseville location, at the Renaissance Creek Shopping Center, opening soon. We’re seeking ambitious, friendly, creative people for both sites, with the greatest need at Roseville.

We design and fabricate custom frames to protect and display whatever a client wants preserved. Our offerings also include high-resolution art scanning and digital printing. As a Designer, you’ll put together a presentation that is attractive and, importantly, archival. As a Framer, you’ll produce the frames and matting, then “fit” the components together into a finished piece.

We want outgoing, craftsman like individuals who take pride in completing projects. While prior custom framing experience is preferred, it isn’t required — we will train the right person.

Preferred qualifications:

  • For Printer position: familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Lightroom; experience with large-format printing (Epson P9000).
  • Custom framing experience is a plus, but training is provided.
  • Graphic design backround is a strong plus.
  • Ability to read a tape measure; solid math and problem-solving skills.
  • Sales experience. Excellent customer service is essential, as we handle customers’ cherished art and photos.
  • Experience handling point-of-sale transactions.
  • Dependable, accountable, and able to work well with others — we are a small-team shop.
  • Willingness to take direction and to work both collaboratively and independently when needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Background in graphic arts, art gallery curation or art history is helpful.
  • Sewing eperience in any stichery, handsewing; is a plus, but not required.
  • Schedule flexibility and weekend availability — we are open seven days a week.

Custom framing is a rewarding craft that lets you apply artistic knowledge while building relationships with clients. If you’re interested in this distinctive trade, please apply with an updated resume.

Part-time and full-time positions are available at both Midtown Sacramento and Roseville. Training will take place at the Sacramento shop prior to the Roseville store opening.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • Employee discount
  • Flexible schedule
  • Paid time off

Work Location: In person
