Position summaRy:
The Commercial Paint Project Manager is a critical position that is responsible for evaluating project specifications and drawings, ensuring that Omni knows everything required to successfully bid and win the project. They also plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and responsibilities:
  • Keeps aware of all projects that will be out for bidding by reviewing Dodge reports, Builders' Exchange reports, etc.
  • Prepares bids for projects, alone or with the help of estimators or other project managers, by analyzing blueprints and spec sheets to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, and other sources.
  • Calls on regular and prospective customers to maintain relationship and/or secure future sales.
  • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phased of project.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Responsible for the safety of project personnel and complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Authorizes the billing of projects by working with the billing clerk.
  • Resolves customer complaints and is responsible for customer satisfaction.

  • High School diploma or Equivalent- Required
  • 5-10 years of experience in the construction industry - Required
  • Previous experience as a commercial/industrial painter- Preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend architectural blueprints, drawings and specifications - Required
  • Basic math and algebra skills, along with the ability to understand ruler measurements - Required
  • Proficient in the use of PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook and Word) - Preferred
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, email and telephone - Required
  • Ability to work independently and/or within in a team and use sound judgment.
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills and be able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Quality conscious with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to details.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision making skills.
  • Ability to work extra hours as projects and workloads require.
