What is a frac sand plant?

A frac sand plant is an industrial facility where silica sand is processed and prepared for use in hydraulic fracturing (fracking) operations in the oil and gas industry. The plant cleans, sorts, and dries sand so that it meets the strict size, shape, and purity requirements needed for fracking. The processed sand is then shipped to drilling sites, where it is mixed with water and chemicals and injected into wells to help release oil and gas from underground rock formations.
