As an FQHC dentist, you work for a federally qualified health center. You provide public health service related to dental care to the patient population. Your duties include performing different dental procedures, such as pulling teeth, drilling and filling cavities, performing dental exams, and helping patients learn about how to maintain their oral hygiene. To carry out your responsibilities, you use a variety of equipment, such as mouth mirrors, forceps, scalpels, X-ray machines, drills, probes, and brushes. You diagnose dental conditions and carry out the procedure necessary to treat your client.
