EDA Application Engineer - Siemens EDA/Questa
Saratech is seeking an experienced EDA Application Engineer to support our engineering customers throughout North America. Saratech is a leading Siemens Digital Industries Software partner and an engineering services company with proven expertise in helping organizations improve product development, manufacturing, verification, and digital transformation.
Our team works with leading companies across aerospace, space, defense, automotive, semiconductor, electronics, and industrial equipment markets.
The EDA Application Engineer will primarily support Siemens EDA products-formerly Mentor Graphics-with a particular focus on the Questa verification portfolio. The position will help customers evaluate, implement, and effectively use electronic design automation solutions for FPGA, ASIC, and system-level design verification.
The ideal candidate is technically curious, customer-focused, and motivated by solving complex design and verification challenges. This individual must be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with customers, sales professionals, other application engineers, and Siemens EDA technical teams.

  • Have experience with digital design, functional verification, FPGA development, or ASIC development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for Siemens EDA solutions, with an emphasis on the Questa product portfolio.
  • Work with customers to understand their electronic design and verification processes, technical requirements, and business objectives.
  • Deliver software demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops, proof-of-concept engagements, and product evaluations.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Siemens EDA software in customer environments.
  • Assist customers with simulation, verification, debugging, coverage analysis, and regression workflows.
  • Support FPGA and ASIC verification environments using SystemVerilog, VHDL, Verilog, UVM, and related technologies.
  • Develop demonstration designs, testbenches, scripts, technical examples, and reusable customer-facing content.
  • Provide customer training and enablement for Questa and other Siemens EDA products.
  • Help customers improve verification productivity, design quality, and time to market.
  • Collaborate with Saratech sales teams to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate software and services.
  • Maintain strong technical relationships with Siemens EDA product specialists and development teams.
  • Communicate customer feedback, enhancement requests, and product issues to Siemens.
  • Track product defects and help prioritize issues based on customer and business impact.
  • Maintain knowledge of semiconductor, aerospace, defense, automotive, and electronics-industry standards and development practices.
  • Expand technical knowledge across the broader Siemens EDA portfolio, which may include Calibre, Xpedition, HyperLynx, Tessent, and related solutions.

Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with at least one hardware description or verification language, such as SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Knowledge of digital logic design, simulation, and verification concepts.
  • Experience working in Linux and/or Windows engineering environments.
  • Ability to travel periodically to customer locations, industry events, and company meetings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • No relocation assistance is available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Siemens Questa, ModelSim, Visualizer, Questa Verification IQ, or other Siemens EDA products.
  • Experience with UVM, constrained-random verification, assertions, functional coverage, code coverage, or formal verification.
  • Experience developing FPGA or ASIC designs and verification environments.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, Perl, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with regression automation, continuous integration, or version-control systems.
  • Familiarity with FPGA vendor environments and design flows.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic-systems customers.
  • Previous experience in an application engineering, customer support, consulting, or technical sales role.
  • Experience delivering customer training, technical presentations, or software demonstrations.
