JOB DESCRIPTION

The FOX Experience + Design team is fueled by boldness and a desire to create impact. We are dedicated to increasing awareness by connecting viewers and clients to FOX through best‑in‑class experiences across diverse business affiliates, such as FOX Entertainment, FOX Sports, Tubi Media, FOX News, and FOX Corporate. The Vice President of Technical Event Operations is responsible for the operational oversight of production services supporting live events, studio productions, executive presentations, and special projects. This role serves as a key business partner, ensuring that production resources, facilities, personnel, and technology are aligned to deliver exceptional event experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Tech Ops Oversight of day‑to‑day technical operations across multiple spaces, projects, and workstreams.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between the core event production teams, creative directors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, technical planning, and operational support are in place for all events and productions.
  • Identify gaps and hiring needs to support flawless execution.
  • Establish standards, workflows, and best practices that support consistency and quality across events and productions.
  • Develop cost‑saving and process improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure a consistent, high‑quality client experience across all productions and events.
  • Maintain absolute source‑of‑truth documentation (event/production budgets, schedules, call sheets, etc.) and ensure real‑time updates across all platforms.
  • Oversee full lifecycle of technical production budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, reconciliation, and variance reporting.
  • Manage annual departmental budget spend, tracking, and usage.
  • Oversee freelance payroll needs via Wrapbook for both tech and events.
  • Evolve FED Tech into a proactive, strategic partner to the FED team and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide clear and consistent communication and documentation between technical teams, stakeholders, and events teams.
  • Streamline cross‑departmental communication to ensure all teams are aligned throughout planning and execution of events and productions.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, FED team members, and outside production teams to accomplish goals efficiently and effectively, always striving to exceed expectations.
  • Manage project scope changes and support with additional resources, budget allocations, and impact on stakeholders.
  • Lead production administration and operations across FOX Experience & Design’s event and production venues, technical facilities, and offsite locations.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point and provide guidance on complex ops.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate exceptional situational leadership; possess tactical skills to execute administrative workflows directly and managerial skills to delegate to junior staff when appropriate.
  • Lead tech ops meetings, ensuring all production needs, business needs, and personnel needs are aligned for flawless events and productions.
  • Set appropriate goals for technical and business operational excellence.
  • Regular on‑site attendance at the workplace for a minimum of four (4) days per week is an essential function of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 12+ years of experience in technical operations, event services, studio management, or broadcast environments.
  • Proven success managing teams, budgets, communications, and vendors across multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to engage effectively with executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Broad understanding of production technologies, audiovisual systems, streaming platforms, and event operations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work long hours (evenings/weekends), lift 50 lbs, and work on feet for extended periods.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Pay range $179,000–$275,000 annually, depending on education, skills, experience, and location.
  • Annual discretionary bonus.
