KEY-BAK- MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (FACILITIES AND MANUFACTURING) 

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to keep our manufacturing facility running at full capacity. In this role you will maintain, repair, and improve the mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems that support our retractable keychain and reel production from PLC-controlled equipment and plastic injection molding machines to the building’s facilities and infrastructure. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, the patience to work on custom-built machinery, and the flexibility to keep the operation running smoothly.

WHAT THE ROLE DOES: 

  • Utilize working knowledge and experience in areas of VFD’s, motors/wiring configurations, PLC’s, computers, electrical schematics, control circuits and electrical distribution systems 
  • Maintain and repair facilities equipment, lighting, scheduling repairs and renovation projects for the 31,000 sq. ft. building 
  • Operates machine shop equipment to repair equipment, fixtures and pneumatics to their original serviceable condition 
  • Maintains and improves the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program and repairs Plastic Injection Molding machines  
  • Repairs and maintains mechanical equipment, including late model Nilson Fourslide and 25-ton punch press 
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical diagrams, and tables; studies sample parts to determine and plan the best sequence of operations 
  • Brings mechanical aptitude, curiosity, patience and hands-on ability to fix and repair machines that have been custom built  
  • Maintains flexibility with shift schedule when company projects need to be completed after regular working hours 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:  

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience 
  • 7+ years of experience as a maintenance technician responsible for preventative maintenance 
  • 2+ years of experience with facility upkeep, renovation and repairs 
  • 5+ years of experience making or replacing parts, preferred 
  • Experience repairing and maintaining computer-controlled systems for production and assembly, preferred 
  • General knowledge of the principles of operation and maintenance of pneumatic, mechanical and electromechanical machines and working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs 
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical diagrams and tables 
  • Ability to communicate with outside contractors and run projects to plan 
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve with excellent attention to detail, time management skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Capable of exerting up to 50lbs. of force without assistance along with the ability to stand, walk and climb stairs throughout the course of the shift
