Quality Manager – Aluminum Casting / Foundry

Location: Sinking Spring, PA

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $85,000–$95,000

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to join an established aluminum casting manufacturing operation in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Quality Manager or a strong Quality Lead, Quality Supervisor, Senior Quality Engineer, or Foundry Quality Engineer who is ready to take the next step into broader leadership.

This is not a desk-focused quality position. The successful candidate will be highly visible on the manufacturing floor, working directly with production, engineering, foundry operations, and the Quality team to identify problems, determine true root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive measurable improvements in scrap, rework, and customer quality.

What You'll Do

  • Lead hands-on root-cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing and casting defects.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, A3, and FMEA.
  • Drive measurable reductions in scrap, rework, nonconformances, and customer escapes.
  • Partner directly with molding, melt, core, machining, engineering, and production teams to correct quality issues at the source.
  • Establish and maintain SPC, control plans, FMEAs, and process controls for critical manufacturing parameters.
  • Support continuous improvement across aluminum casting and machining operations.
  • Lead and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including audits, document control, management review, and corrective actions.
  • Manage customer quality concerns, containment, CARs, returns, FAI, and applicable PPAP/APQP requirements.
  • Support supplier quality and supplier corrective-action activities.
  • Partner with metallurgical and laboratory functions involving material chemistry, mechanical testing, failure analysis, calibration, and measurement systems.
  • Support inspection and NDT processes as applicable.
  • Coach and develop Quality team members to strengthen their root-cause analysis and corrective-action capabilities.
  • Support quality requirements associated with defense/government manufacturing, including traceability, material certifications, FAI, and applicable specifications.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing quality, foundry operations, casting, metallurgy, or a closely related environment.
  • Hands-on experience solving manufacturing problems through root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Experience within a foundry or casting environment strongly preferred.
  • Aluminum casting and/or sand casting experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience investigating manufacturing defects and driving corrective actions through verified closure.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, SPC, control plans, CAPA, MSA/Gage R&R, PPAP, or APQP.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, operations, customers, and suppliers.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the confidence to drive change on the manufacturing floor.
  • Experience coaching or leading Quality personnel is preferred.
  • ISO 9001/QMS experience preferred.
  • Aerospace, defense, government-contract manufacturing, AS9100, NADCAP, metallurgy, or NDT experience is a plus.
