Palantir Application Developer
We are seeking a Palantir Application Developer to design, build, and deploy applications within the Palantir Foundry platform. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and develop user-friendly applications that drive operational efficiency and data-driven decision making.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills in Foundry application development paired with excellent communication abilities to bridge the gap between business users and technical implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development
  • Design and build Workshop applications, dashboards, and operational tools within Palantir Foundry that meet business requirements and deliver intuitive user experiences.
  • Develop ontology-backed workflows and applications leveraging object types, link types, and actions to support business processes.
  • Create data visualizations, reports, and analytical tools that enable stakeholders to derive actionable insights from enterprise data.
  • Build and maintain AIP Analyst functions and other AI-powered capabilities to enhance application functionality.

Requirements Gathering and Business Collaboration
  • Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize requirements for new applications and enhancements to existing solutions.
  • Conduct user interviews, workshops, and demonstrations to understand business processes and pain points.
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications and actionable development tasks.
  • Distill business needs into practical, scalable solutions within the Foundry platform.

Data Integration and Ontology Work
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and transforms to prepare and structure data for application consumption and ontology integration.
  • Support ontology development by creating and configuring object types, link types, and ontology sync configurations as needed for applications.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data flows properly from backing datasets into the ontology layer.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity in application backing datasets through appropriate validation and testing.

Governance Compliance
  • Adhere to Kinder Morgan's established governance policies and standards for application development, ontology modeling, and data management.
  • Implement appropriate access controls and security measures within applications using Foundry Organizations, Markings, and permissions in accordance with governance requirements.
  • Follow established naming conventions, documentation requirements, and development bespractices.
  • Document application functionality, data sources, and user guides to support governance and maintenance standards.

Application Maintenance and Support
  • Monitor application performance and user feedback; implement improvements and bug fixes as needed.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and best practices.
  • Maintain and update existing applications to ensure continued alignment with business needs and platform capabilities.

Stakeholder Communication and Training
  • Present application demos and progress updates to business stakeholders and leadership.
  • Provide training and support to end users on application functionality and best practices.
  • Communicate technical concepts in business-friendly language to ensure stakeholder understanding and alignment.
