Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems) based onsite in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Manufacturing Engineers thrive in an environment of daily unique challenges and close proximity to products. Partnering with production, successful test engineers lead troubleshooting and ensure excellence in hardware and software. Engineers who do well in this setting enjoy seeing their work perform in a test or a product, collaborate and communicate well across functions, and are innovative problem solvers. Best suited to this role are those who enjoy learning and bring a sense of urgency and energy to their tasks.

This position will support product build in a dynamic, fast-paced and technically challenging environment in support of Radio Frequency systems, requiring collaboration across functional groups.

Building a strong professional relationship with other Manufacturing disciplines (Process Engineering, Project Management, Shop Operations, Mission Assurance), strong decision-making skills and a high-level ethical standard is essential.

This position will include providing process support for the manufacture of the Shop Replaceable Units This position will support aerial, military-grade, or space-grade Electronic Warfare Systems and Subsystems.

What you will get to do:

  • Support to Production: Coordinate with Design Engineering, Production technician, Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality organizations to meet manufacturing contractual commitment. Investigate, design, and provide solutions to support nonconformance repair procedures.

  • Process Development/Maintenance: Generate and maintain/revise Manufacturing Engineering Process Specifications, Work Instructions, Routers, Tooling/Fixturing and Equipment.

  • Continuous improvement: Review of quality metrics to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, cycle time, defects.

  • Producibility reviews: Collaborate with design engineering to achieve producibility in new and updated product design.

  • Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors.

Basic Qualifications for the Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems):

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related engineering degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience; OR a Master's degree (MS) in equivalent fields.

  • Experience interpreting drawings and specifications.

  • Experience either creating process work instructions, working in a manufacturing environment, and/or working in a design environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

  • United States citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications for the Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems):

  • Active DoD Security Clearance.

  • Experience with automated manufacturing

  • Experience programming automated manufacturing equipment.

  • Experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

  • Proven excellence with Root Cause Corrective Action methods.

  • Experience with Integrated Micro Assembly (IMA) manufacturing and/or Circuit Card Assemblies.

  • Experience with manufacturing of tight tolerance items in fields such as medical and aerospace.

  • Experience in developing/improving manufacturing processes for Radio Frequency (RF) Electronic products and/or equivalent.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
