Job description

Die Cast Machine Operator 3rd Shift
Job Summary This position is responsible for the operation of die cast machines while under general supervision, resulting in the production of high-quality automobile part components cast from virgin or scrap aluminum to be machined and assembled within the Aluminum Division.
Essential Functions
  1. Pulls parts from casting machines
  2. Inspects parts, performs quality checks to check for cracks, flow wrinkles and discoloration in product
  3. Fills out NG or abnormal parts tags
  4. Completes department paperwork to document hourly quotas, downtime, etc.
  5. Moves product using hand carts
  6. Follows the appropriate steps in all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  7. Operates all equipment in a safe manner and obeys all safety guidelines at all times.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Functions
1. Interacts with co-workers and outside vendors
2. Maintains clean working environment
3. Continuously seeks to improve processes
4. Promotes a safe working environment
5. Communicates with other Associates and Shift Team Leaders regarding quality or production issues
Requirements
Education High School Diploma preferred, ability to read, write, and do math calculations is required.
Experience 1-2 years’ experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment is helpful.
Knowledge of die cast machines and presses is preferred. Position requires the understanding of quality control checks, use of basic quality control and basic hand tools, ability to work in a team environment, follow written and oral directions and maintain a safe working environment while meeting daily quotas.
Skills
Working Conditions Position requires the ability to bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive arm movements, lift to 35 pounds, stand on concrete floors for extended periods of time, work mandatory overtime and withstand temperatures of up to 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
