Job description

Future Opportunity: We are not actively hiring for this position at this time. We are keeping this posting open to connect with talented candidates for anticipated hiring needs in 2027. If this role aligns with your experience, we encourage you to apply so we can consider you when hiring resumes.
The Willis Johnson Wealth (WJW) Wealth Management Development Program is a structured two-year rotational experience designed to build the technical foundation and professional confidence needed for a long-term career in wealth management.
During the program, you'll gain hands-on exposure to every stage of the client journey, rotating across:

  • Client Onboarding - learn how new client relationships are established and supported
  • Client Operations - serve as "mission control" for paperwork, transfers, and custodial processes
  • Tax Operations - partner with our in-house CPA team during busy season to see tax strategies in action
  • Portfolio Management - contribute to reporting, trading, and investment analysis
  • Financial Planning - support advisors in developing comprehensive, client-centered financial plans
At the end of the program, you'll be prepared to pursue advancement as a future financial advisor, operations leader, or tax professional.
Our Culture & What We Value
At WJW, we believe that how we work matters as much as what we do. Our culture is built around five values, and we look for team members who embody these behaviors:
  • Consultative - You listen first, ask thoughtful questions, and guide clients and colleagues with empathy and clarity.
  • Technical - You pursue depth of knowledge, whether in financial planning, investments, or systems, and strive to master the details.
  • Methodical - You bring structure and discipline, ensuring processes are precise, consistent, and reliable.
  • Collaborative - You thrive in a team environment, sharing credit, supporting others, and believing that collective success is the goal.
  • Proactive - You anticipate needs, take initiative without being asked, and keep projects moving forward.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (all majors considered; finance, economics, accounting, or business preferred)
  • Prior internships or experience in wealth management, financial planning, banking, or insurance is a plus
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset
  • Comfortable with technology (Excel, CRM systems, financial platforms)
  • Curious, motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
What We Offer
  • Salary: $75,000 - $80,000/year, plus 10-15% discretionary performance bonus (paid bi-annually)
  • 401(k) with up to 7% employer contribution in year one, increasing to 10% with tenure
  • Employer-paid health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
  • Employer HSA contributions
  • 11 paid holidays + 15 PTO days annually
  • Professional development support, certification incentives, and conference opportunities
  • A collaborative, supportive culture recognized as a Best Place to Work for Financial Advisors by Investment News
