Per Diem | Evenings | 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Pay: $18/hr

Responsibilities of a Server:

  • Support the Community Services Director and Director of Culinary Services in the creation of an inviting, smooth operating and enjoyable dining experience for Independent Living (IL) resident diners and their guests at Westbrooke Clubhouse.
  • Build positive and collaborative relationships with the other members of the IL team.
  • Attend to all duties regarding the opening and closing of the dining rooms and Red Room before and after the dinner hour.
  • Build positive professional and nurturing relationships with the IL residents.
  • Refer to residents with title of Mr., Mrs., or Ms., + last name unless told by a particular resident to refer to them otherwise.
  • Identify and remember resident preferences regarding their dining habits.
  • Meet residents in a welcoming manner. Greet residents and their guests in a cheerful manner. Present menus in a polite manner while providing information and suggestions regarding the specials of teh week and day.
  • Take all beverage and food orders in the dining room and/or on the phone for carryout orders and deliver soup and entree orders directly and immediately to the chefs.
  • Continuously communicate with the chefs throughout the dinner hour to ensure there is accuracy in orders placed as well as proper flow of timing between dinner courses.
  • Sever plated food to residents and their guests in a timely manner while attending to all customer service standards and dining room etiquette as directed the Community Services Director.
  • Check back with residents and their guests approximately 5 minutes after serving of entree to ensure that it has been prepared to their satisfaction. If not, return plate to kitchen and place reorder with Director of Culinary Services or the Assistant Chef in charge.
  • Check in with resident customers periodically for possible beverage refills, especially when the resident is enjoying a hot beverage such as coffee or tea.
  • Maintain a well-stocked salad bar.
  • Ensure Red Room tables are bussed throughout dessert hour.
  • Ensure Red Room is consistently well equipped with beverages.
  • Ensure Resident tables are cleaned and reset throughout the dinner hour to maintain a maximum number of seating options in an attractive, clean and customer - ready environment.
  • Support fellow servers in all aspects of ensuring that every IL resident and their guests receive excellent service every time.

Requirements of a Server:

  • Must be at least 14 years of age or older.
