Our mission is to provide caring, comprehensive, and person-centered services to support individuals and families in our communities.

Internship Overview:
BHSN is seeking a motivated and compassionate student to join our Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program as an Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience working with children, families, and foster parents in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.

This is an unpaid internship and is expected to be completed for academic credit, in alignment with your college or university requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shadow TFC staff in day-to-day program operations
  • Assist with case documentation and file organization
  • Observe and participate in client and foster family interactions, as appropriate
  • Support coordination of services for children and families
  • Attend team meetings, trainings, and case reviews
  • Complete assigned projects and learning objectives as outlined by academic program
  • Adhere to all BHSN policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards

Requirements:

  • Internship must be for academic credit (if required by school)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Willingness to learn and engage in a behavioral health setting

What’s in it for you?

  • Gain understanding of therapeutic foster care systems and services
  • Develop knowledge of trauma-informed care and child welfare practices
  • Build professional communication and documentation skills
  • Understand multidisciplinary team collaboration
