In this full-time, first-shift position at a vibrant community hospital located in a picturesque southern city, you'll play an integral role in delivering critical diagnostic findings.
Description - What You'll Do
  • Conduct both routine and sophisticated clinical laboratory tests in areas such as chemistry, hematology, immunology, and more, following established protocols.
  • Evaluate test results for precision, address discrepancies, and perform preventive maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Support specimen collection and prep samples for testing as needed.
  • Document all laboratory procedures thoroughly, mentor new staff or students, and assist in maintaining laboratory quality standards.
  • Ensure a clean, safe working environment while complying with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Education
  • A Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or an equivalent allied health degree, with the preparation for ASCP/AMT certification.
Certifications
  • ASCP or AMT certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Maintain continuous certification throughout employment.
Skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail, particularly in quality assurance and documentation.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Generous paid time off starting on day one, alongside vacation and holiday time accounting for prior experience.
  • Continuing education opportunities for professional development.
  • A robust total rewards package focused on enhancing your overall wellness.

Your Work Fuels Lives
In this key role, your laboratory expertise directly impacts clinical decisions and patient care. Each sample you analyze could confirm life-saving treatments or identify health issues before they escalate. Your accuracy ensures that doctors, nurses, and patients have the vital information they depend on each day.
Fostering a Collaborative Culture
In this position, you won't just be performing tests and generating reports-you'll be joining a close-knit community focused on collective improvement. Engaging lab huddles, ongoing training refreshers, and process enhancement efforts create an environment where everyone's voice is valued. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to committees, suggest innovations, and mentor newcomers.
Discover a Blossoming Community
Imagine life in a bustling southern town, where stunning waterfront views are complemented by charming neighborhoods. Farmers' markets brim with fresh produce, local breweries offer delightful tastings, and arts banners announce vibrant community festivals. You'll find cozy cafés that serve as melting pots of local discussion, where the chatter ranges from personal anecdotes to broader community happenings. Your free time could be spent kayaking in serene waters or enjoying open-air concerts amid tall trees. The residents are warm, welcoming, and characterized by a spirit of collaboration that mirrors the healthcare community's values.
In this setting, a spectrum of outdoor activities, cultural venues, and delightful shops cater to every interest. Commutes are typically swift, making it easier to enjoy a balanced lifestyle compared to larger cities. Housing remains affordable, allowing your earnings to support enriching experiences-be it weekend getaways, visiting local wineries, or attending thrilling college sports events.
