Job description

Description
Concrete Laborer - Fort Miller Precast
Fort Miller Precast is located in Greenwich, NY, has a full time, year round opening for a Concrete Laborer. The ideal candidate has some construction experience, specifically in the areas of concrete and carpentry. We are looking for someone who is energetic, safety conscious, reliable and self-motivated and who takes pride in the quality of their work. We offer a competitive starting rate, on the job training, a Monday-Friday first shift schedule, indoor work, excellent benefits including generous paid time off, the availability of overtime and retirement benefits. If you like to work with your hands and want to learn something new, this is a great opportunity with a family-oriented company.
Why You'll Want to Be Part of Fort Miller Precast:
Our Employee Ownership culture is at the heart of everything we do. As an employee-owner, your contributions directly impact the company's success-and that success is shared among all of us. Here are some other great benefits that we offer:
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP): You're not just an employee-you're an owner. Share in the growth and success of the company you help build!
  • 401(k) with Company Match: Save for your future, with additional company contributions.
  • Generous Paid Time Off: Vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: We'll cover 100% of your continuing education costs-investing in your future.
  • Comprehensive Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus an employer-funded HSA.
  • Life & Disability Insurance: Fully paid by the Company.
  • Collaborative, Employee-First Culture: Be part of a supportive team where your voice is heard and your efforts are valued.

Your role as a Concrete Laborer:
  • Set up wooden and steel forms, often using carpentry skills and basic hand and power tools.
  • Pour and finish concrete.
  • Strip forms and prepare concrete products for shipment, which may involve sealing, patching, etc.
  • Perform basic material handling, loading product onto trailers with an overhead crane, moving steel with a forklift, etc.
  • General housekeeping such as sweeping, cleaning and putting away tools.

What we're looking for:
  • Perform heavy physical labor.
  • Safely lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Understand common measurements of length.
  • Access equipment at various levels by reaching or climbing a ladder, bend over, walk, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including overtime and Saturdays on occasion.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
