Project Superintendent - Water/wastewater

Location: GTA, Ontario

Compensation: $120,000-$170,000 (based on experience)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We're partnering with a well-established Canadian general contractor to add a Project Superintendent to their dynamic team. With a robust backlog of work and a collaborative leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to lead significant projects while working alongside experienced construction professionals who value safety, quality, and execution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As Project Superintendent, you'll be responsible for the successful day-to-day execution of major construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading all on-site construction operations from project start through closeout.
  • Building and maintaining a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Coordinating field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment to maximize productivity.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules alongside the project management team.
  • Planning construction sequencing and proactively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Monitoring labour productivity, equipment utilization, quantities, and project costs.
  • Identifying design conflicts, constructability issues, and project risks before they impact delivery.
  • Managing self-performed work, including complex concrete and formwork operations where applicable.
  • Leading site meetings, trade coordination meetings, and safety meetings while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Working collaboratively with project management to manage changes, additional work, and schedule recovery strategies.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Superintendent or Senior Site Supervisor with a general contractor.
  • Gold Seal Certification (or eligibility), C.E.T., C.Tech., or P.Eng. designation is considered a strong asset..
  • Proven success leading major wastewater projects valued between approximately $75M and $100M or larger.
  • Strong experience managing self-performed concrete and formwork operations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and coordination abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital construction documentation tools.
