R&D Formulator – Liquid Nutritional Products | Contract Manufacturing | Onsite

Position Summary

Hands-on R&D Formulator responsible for developing, optimizing, and commercializing liquid nutritional products in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. Owns formulations from concept through production with a focus on speed, scalability, compliance, and product performance. This role requires strong technical expertise, a solutions-driven mindset, and the ability to execute with precision and urgency.

Key Responsibilities

· Formulate liquid nutritional products from concept through commercialization

· Design formulations with a focus on stability, bioavailability, flavor, manufacturability, and cost efficiency

· Execute bench trials, pilot batches, and scale-up activities to ensure seamless production readiness

· Drive cross-functional execution with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service from PO through final production

· Serve as the technical lead with customers—present formulations, guide product direction, and translate needs into commercially viable solutions

· Clearly communicate formulation strategy, trade-offs, and timelines while building credibility and trust with clients

· Troubleshoot formulation and production challenges including stability, compatibility, and process deviations

· Evaluate and select raw materials, flavors, and functional ingredients aligned with customer and regulatory requirements

· Ensure compliance with FDA, cGMP, and labeling standards

· Maintain accurate formulas, specifications, batch records, and supporting documentation

· Continuously improve formulations, processes, and overall product performance

Qualifications

· Proven experience formulating liquid dietary supplements within a CDMO/CMO environment

· Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, solubility, stability, and flavor systems in liquid applications

· Demonstrated ability to take products from concept through commercialization

· Experience scaling formulations into manufacturing environments

· Hands-on, solutions-oriented problem solver with a strong sense of urgency

· Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Working knowledge of FDA and cGMP requirements

· Strong cross-functional and customer-facing communication skills
