Role Description The Crisis Prevention Organizer is a part-time, hybrid role based in Waterbury, CT, with flexibility for some work-from-home hours. This role involves coordinating and implementing crisis prevention initiatives that support vulnerable community members, including crisis management outreach, delivery of baby formula, delivery of HIV testing kits, education, and resource navigation. We strongly encourage persons of BIPOC, queer, and or migrant populations to apply.


The organizer will conduct the following tasks:

•       Scheduling

•       Note taking

•       Event tabling 

•       Delivery of baby formula and HIV/STI Testing kits

•       Intake Management

•       Social media management 

•       Canvassing 


The Crisis Prevention Organizer will collaborate closely with internal team members and external partners to ensure aligned, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches.


Qualifications

  • Strong Communication skills, including active listening, public speaking, and clear written documentation.
  • HS Diploma. (A bachelor's degree in a field related to Social Justice, Human Services, Political Science is a plus)
  • With reliable transportation and a Driver License
  • Solid Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify patterns, assess risk, and inform prevention strategies.
  • Knowledge of Prevention practices, including crisis prevention, safety planning, and community education approaches.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and an eagerness to support sensitive populations
  • Age requirement is 18+
  • At least (2) years of work/internship experience in a related field.
