The Laboratory Technician supports product development, reformulation, and quality initiatives within the R&D Laboratory. This role is responsible for executing experimental work, documenting results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and partnering with production teams to ensure consistent product performance and process efficiency. The Technician will contribute to both new product development and continuous improvement of existing formulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Formulate, develop, and introduce new products as instructed by the R&D Product Development Manager.
• Conduct evaluations and perform re-formulation work on existing products according to assigned direction.
• Complete assigned laboratory projects and provide clear written summaries of project work.
• Enter formulations-including instructions and QC specifications-following established procedures.
• Complete Formula Entry/Change Sheets as required and accurately record project completion in e-Chempax.
• Collaborate with production personnel to support process modifications and identify process improvements.
• Perform calibration of laboratory equipment and maintain accurate calibration records.
• Review and sign off on relevant documents to acknowledge understanding of role-related responsibilities.
• Conduct analytical testing using laboratory instruments to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Dispose of wet samples that have exceeded their retention date according to safety and environmental procedures.
• Other duties assigned by management
Education/Experience
  • Associate degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Prior laboratory or ink/coating formulation experience is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with analytical testing equipment and lab safety protocols.

  • High attention to detail with accuracy and precision in laboratory work.
  • Skilled in technical documentation and project record-keeping.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and perform tasks independently when needed.
