Job description

Salary range: $225k - $275k
Location: Seattle, WA, Spokane, WA
About this role
We're seeking an established attorney with a portable book of business of $500K+ (can flex down to $300K+ for the right candidates) who is ready to join a collegial, full-service Seattle firm as Of Counsel with a clear path to equity partnership. You should be comfortable operating as a trusted generalist counselor to your clients - originating work, servicing it, and cross-selling across practice areas - and have a track record of building and sustaining client relationships independently. Bonus points if you practice transactional real estate, corporate/business law, or M&A, and are already rooted in the Pacific Northwest legal community.
What you'll do:
  • Bring and grow a portable book of business ($500K+ minimum), leveraging the firm's full-service infrastructure to cross-sell and expand client relationships across practice areas
  • Originate and service client matters in your area of expertise - transactional real estate, corporate, M&A, employment (employer-side), or litigation - while collaborating with associates and paralegals to maximize leverage
  • Work closely with Helsell Fetterman's partners and practice leads to deliver comprehensive legal counsel to clients, ensuring the firm's "client first" ethos is upheld
  • Operate under a transparent, formula-driven fee-sharing compensation model (15% originations + 30% collections on own work = 45% baseline; 55% at performance tier) with a bridge salary during ramp-up
  • Participate in firm culture as an active office presence - 60-70% of attorneys are in daily - building relationships that drive internal referrals and cross-sell opportunities
  • Progress through an Of Counsel period (minimum ~1 year) with partnership consideration at year-end for the following calendar year, joining an equity-only partnership structure
